One of Scott Cawley’s core services is undertaking site surveys and producing high quality mapping and reports that accurately and objectively describe the baseline environment. These are used in formal Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and Fauna and Flora Impact Sections within Environment Impact Statements (EISs).
Scott Cawley staff are trained as ecologists with a detailed knowledge of habitat identification and valuation and identification of aquatic and terrestrial fauna and flora. All staff and Partners attend Continual Professional Development in the form of formal training courses in Ireland and the UK.

Often where habitats of high ecological value are recorded in Phase 1 Habitat surveys, more detailed surveying of the floral communities present is required by the environmental authorities. Scott Cawley have undertaken such Phase 2 surveys in accordance with the National Vegetation Classification index system.
